About Your Cardiologist:
Dr. Barry Burstein is a cardiologist with subspecialty training in cardiac critical care and advanced experience in heart failure and echocardiography. He completed his MD at Jefferson Medical College in 2012, followed by Internal Medicine and Cardiology training at McGill University. He then pursued a Critical Care Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, graduating in 2020. At One Heart Care, Dr. Burstein provides general cardiology services with a particular focus on cardiac intensive care and Post-Intensive Care Syndrome (PICS).
Dr. Burstein serves as Cardiac Diagnostics Lead at Trillium Health Partners and is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is a board member of the Canadian Cardiovascular Critical Care Society (CANCARE), has delivered presentations at international conferences, and authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications. His care philosophy centres on evidence-based, patient-focused decision making. Fluent in French, he also enjoys teaching, quality improvement, cycling, tennis, and spending time with his family.
