About Your Cardiologist:
Dr. Vikram Gurtu is a general cardiologist with advanced training in echocardiography, heart failure, and integrative physiology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Calgary and completed internal medicine and cardiology residencies at the University of Alberta and Mazankowski Heart Institute, where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Gurtu went on to complete a fellowship in Advanced Echocardiography and the Clinician Investigator Program, followed by additional training in integrative physiology at Mount Sinai Hospital and in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation at Toronto General Hospital. He has authored multiple publications in high-impact journals and has a strong academic background in pulmonary hypertension and right heart failure.

At One Heart Care, Dr. Gurtu focuses on general cardiology while maintaining a special interest in heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. He also serves as a staff cardiologist and the Medical Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto.
